What is a Dell drivers and utilities CD?

An example of a Dell drivers and utilities CD may be seen in the image below. When you place this CD into your computer, you can choose which devices you want to install.
If you’ve misplaced your drivers CD, you should be able to find the drivers you need for your computer on the manufacturer’s website. For example, you can obtain the correct drivers for your Dell computer by entering your service tag into the Dell support page.
We recommend contacting the computer maker for a replacement if you need a new drivers CD. Computer Hope is unable to provide drivers CDs to its visitors. Check for damage and clean the disc: Using purified water and a lint-free cloth, remove any dust or smudges off the disc. Replace the disc if the playing surface is significantly damaged.
Test a variety of disc types: CDs and DVDs that are known to work in other disc players should be loaded. If all discs of the same type won’t play, check to see if the drive can handle that disc type.
The following Blu-ray or DVD movie discs will not play: Make that the disc type is supported by the drive. Install compatible movie playback software if it is supported. For further information, see DVD playback options for Windows (in English).

- Check to see if the disk you’re using is compatible with the drive that came with your computer. The article Guide to Optical Disk Drives and Optical Discs in the Dell Knowledge Base will help.
- Verify that the disk burning/writing session was properly closed if you’re using a recordable (R) or rewritable (RW) disk. Consult the documentation for the disk recording software you’re using.
