Is it possible to cancel Rogers service online?

If I don’t pay my Rogers bill, what happens?
Please sign in to MyRogers, click Promise to Pay, and follow the procedures if you are unable to make a payment by the due date but would like to negotiate specific payment arrangements.
If you do not create a Payment Arrangement and do not pay your past due amount, your services will be temporarily suspended and you will be charged a Restoral Fee or an Account Processing Fee.

Is it allowed to charge cancellation fees in Canada?
- If a consumer cancels a contract before the end of the commitment term, the service provider is only allowed to charge the customer the early cancellation fee. This price must be computed in the following manner.
- The price for early cancellation shall not be greater than the value of the device subsidy; and
- The early cancellation charge must be lowered by an equal amount each month, until it reaches $0 by the conclusion of the contract period, which is the lesser of 24 months or the total number of months.
- The early cancellation cost cannot be more than the device subsidy; and
- Over a maximum of 24 months, the early cancellation price must be lowered by an equal amount each month, until it reaches $0 at the conclusion of that term.
- For fixed-term contracts, the early cancellation fee must be specified in the contract and can only be levied for the lesser of 24 months or the entire contract duration. By the conclusion of that time, the early cancellation cost must be lowered to zero.
- A service provider cannot levy an early cancellation fee for indefinite contracts.
- The retail price of the gadget minus the amount paid by the customer when the contract was signed is the value of the device subsidy.
- The gadget’s retail price is the lesser of the manufacturer’s suggested retail price or the price established for the device when acquired without a contract from the service provider; and
- A month that has partially elapsed at the time of cancellation is treated as if it had fully elapsed.
Trial period
- When a new client signs a contract that includes an early cancellation fee, the service provider must give the consumer with a trial period of at least 15 calendar days to allow them to evaluate whether the service fits their needs.
- If a consumer declares themselves to be disabled, the service provider must provide an extended trial period of at least 30 calendar days to allow the customer to assess if the service fits their needs.
- Whether the contract contains limited or unlimited monthly usage, the usage restrictions for the standard trial period must match to half of the permissible monthly consumption mentioned in the customer’s contract. The allowable usage quantities for clients with disabilities must be at least double the service provider’s usage restrictions for the standard trial period.
- Customers can terminate their contract without penalty or early cancellation fees throughout the trial period.
- Any equipment or gadget provided by the service provider must be returned in near-new condition, including original packing if possible.
Cancellation date
- A consumer may tell their service provider at any moment to cancel their contract.
- A service provider must cancel service on the day requested by the client or someone acting on the customer’s behalf.
Refunds for prepaidservices not provided following cancellation
- A service provider may not charge for a service that has been canceled and cannot be delivered.
- When some or all of the monthly service prices are billed in advance, all service providers must issue refunds for Internet services following cancellation. Refunds must be prorated based on the number of days remaining in the previous monthly billing cycle following cancellation.
Contract extension
- A service provider may extend a contract on a month-to-month basis to ensure that clients are not disconnected at the end of the commitment period, with the same fees, terms, and conditions.
- A service provider must tell a client on a fixed-term contract whether or not the contract will be automatically extended at least 90 calendar days before the end of the initial commitment period. This notice must contain the following information:
- a statement telling the consumer that they can change plans, service providers, or terminate their service without penalty as of that date; and
- whether the contract will be automatically renewed on a month-to-month basis at the same rates, terms, and conditions; and
- The suggested new minimum monthly rate for service going forward if the contract is not automatically extended.
