JUMP’s dockless electric bikes now have a new swappable battery, according to Holt. Late last year, JUMP installed swappable batteries to its bikes, but riders will now be able to replace them.
While JUMP could replace out the batteries at the warehouse before, Mikolajczak claimed they weren’t genuinely interchangeable.
“The existing batteries on scooters and motorcycles aren’t designed to be swappable,” she explained. “You can switch the battery on the JUMP bike, but it’s something the operator needs to do.” There are a few tangled connections in there.
