What is SBI E payment, and how does it work?
SBI’s e-PAY is a service that allows you to’see and pay’ a variety of bills via SBI Internet Banking at any time of day or night, 365 days a year. You can pay the biller immediately from your SBI account using the e-PAY service instead of using a cheque or waiting in lines.
You can also schedule a payment to be made at a later time. Payments will be processed and forwarded to your billers on the specified dates. You can also set up AutoPay instructions for your bills, as well as a payment limit. Bills that fall within this range will be automatically processed for payment when they come due.
You may pay bills from a variety of electric, telephone, mobile, credit card, gas, and insurance companies with e-PAY. You can pay the bills of the billers you’ve registered with the Bank via Internet Banking or by visiting a branch and submitting the e-PAY Registration Form.
Payment Only – These are companies who don’t generally send out bills but do accept payments directly (eg charities – CRY, Trusts – Siddhivinayak Temple). As a result, after you’ve added them to your biller list, you can make payments to them right away.
Using the “Add Billers” option, you can add a biller. To add a biller to your personal biller list, first choose the city, then the biller. You’ll need to supply a Nickname as well as some Biller Specific Details, which are outlined below:
- The reference name for a biller that you’ve introduced is called a nickname (eg Hutch, Home)
- Biller Specific Details – are used to identify your account with the biller and appear on every printed bill that the biller sends to you. For example, if you want to add MTNL as a biller, you’ll need to supply the ‘Customer Account Number’ and the ‘Telephone Number.’ Please give accurate information so that we and the biller may accurately relate to your service. When entering the Biller Specific Details, it’s a good idea to have a recent bill handy.
You can also register your billers by downloading an e-PAY form from the website or picking one up at your local branch. Fill out the biller information, sign the form, and drop it off at your local branch.
You can make a payment right away for “Pay Bill” and “Payment Only” billers after adding them to your biller list online.
Yes, you can make a payment on someone else’s account. You’ll need to fill in the Biller Specific Details of the person whose bill needs to be paid in order to do so.
When adding a biller, you must supply Biller Specific Details. We will verify and confirm our relationship with the biller so that you can receive bills and make payments.
You will receive an instant electronic acknowledgement/receipt with a Transaction Reference Number for each payment made with e-PAY. You can print a copy of this receipt for your records.
You can set up a standing instruction for a “View and Pay Bill” biller that you have registered for with the ‘AutoPay’ option. You can also set a maximum payment amount. Bills that fall within this range will be automatically processed for payment when they come due. Only your unique authorization can be used to pay any bill that exceeds the set amount.
The “Edit AutoPay” option under the Bill Payment section allows you to cancel or amend the biller’s AutoPay option.
The “View Payments” option under the Bill Payment section allows you to see payments you’ve made in the past that have already been processed. You can also print a copy of the bills that have been paid. A payment that you’ve planned for a later date will appear under the Bill Payment section’s “Scheduled Payments” option.
The Bank will help you in any way it can to get information about the bills you’ve received and the payments you’ve made. Please keep in mind that the Bank is not responsible for resolving bill payment problems between you and the biller. You must contact the biller directly for any single charge that you wish to dispute or address in a given bill.
Unless you specifically authorize a payment, we will not be able to make a payment to the biller. You can give this authorization online on a case-by-case basis or through the AutoPay option for bills that fall within your set upper limit. As a result, if you do not pay a bill that is provided to you, the biller’s individual terms and circumstances for late or non-payment of bill may apply.
Yes, you can cancel your biller registration request by going to the Bill Payment area and selecting “Delete Biller.” You will not be able to receive electronic bills or make payments to a biller if you terminate your registration for that biller.
What does it mean to register as a biller?
This option is available to bank customers who want to register for billers. The billers are the normal payees, and the bank administrator creates their records. The user has created an account for the biller to whom he desires to send payments. The user must submit his account information upon registering.
Both payment and presentment billers can be registered by the user. For a corporate or retail user, the nickname for biller registration is unique. If a biller registration with an unregistered status already exists, the user will be unable to create a new biller registration with the same username. The biller format defined by the bank administration when constructing the biller determines the customer identifying data.
Multiple users can register for the same biller with the same consumer code in the Finacle e-Banking application.
Assume there are two retail users, User 1 and User 2, who share the same home, and one of them will be responsible for paying the broadband connection bill. Both of them can register broadband provider BB1 as the biller with the same connection number (consumer code), allowing any of them to pay the bill when it is issued by BB1.
Both users, however, are unable to register a biller with auto pay as yes. If one user has previously registered for the biller with auto pay as yes, the other user will not be able to pick auto pay when registering the biller.
