Do I have to leave my Salt Lamp on all the time?
You don’t have it. When you’re at home, it’s a good idea to have your Salt Lamp on. However, as with other gadgets, it is not recommended to leave it on unattended when no one is home. Turn on all of your Himalayan Salt Lamps when you come home.
If I turn my Salt Lamp off will it melt away to nothing?
When switched off, Himalayan Salt Lamps absorb moisture from the air and can ‘cry’ if the weather is particularly humid or if you live near the ocean. To avoid a sad lamp after it has been switched off, place a plastic bag over it and tuck it under the base of the light to keep moisture out. If you are going away for an extended period of time, you can take extra precautions by carefully pulling the chord (with bulb) out of the lamp’s bottom to avoid moisture from getting on the cord and bulb. When you reach home, simply remove the plastic bag and re-insert the cord into your lamp. This is handy when the humidity level in your area is high. When the weather is dry and your lamps aren’t crying, they can be turned off and left alone.

Why are my bulbs blowing?

When a Salt Lamp’s Dim Switch is switched on, the bulb receives less power, causing it to emit less heat. However, if the weather is particularly humid, the Salt Lamp can still ‘cry’ (sweat/absorb moisture), which can be harmful when it is plugged in and turned on at the power source. Because a Salt Lamp only has a 12 volt bulb with a modest power, it requires heat from the bulb to function.
A Salt Lamp does not require the use of a Dimmer Switch. If you want a darker Lamp, go for one with darker colored Salt Crystals.
My salt lamp is turned on but it’s still crying?
Salt lamps can still cry (condensate) a tiny bit when turned on in high humidity. If this happens, use a dry towel to wipe your lamp off.
Why do you recommend to sit the salt lamp on a plate?

Don’t use LED bulbs for your salt lamp
LED bulbs may have cool colors and appear to be a good fit for your salt lamp, but they don’t generate any heat. This is a complete no-no. The health advantages of salt lamps are derived from the light inside heating the pink rock salt outside.

Corrosion
Genuine salt lamps absorb moisture from the air, causing condensation on the lamp’s surface. If you switch on your lamp, the water will evaporate due to the warmth.
However, if your lamp is not sufficiently warm, the water may drip onto the lamp’s base or the furniture beneath it. If either surface is made of metal, the water could corrode it. If the surface is constructed of wood, the moisture may cause the wood to warp or discolor.
While this type of corrosion poses no health concern, it’s a good idea to double-check that the bulb inside the lamp isn’t touching the rock. To avoid condensation, the bulb should be cradled inside a depression in the rock, well away from the boulder’s edges.
