The PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Rocksmith 2014 Edition Remastered have been upgraded to include acoustic guitar support. By adding a microphone to your PC or console, you may now play the game with your acoustic guitar.
Is Rocksmith compatible with acoustic and electric guitars?
The first item we looked for was something we discussed earlier. We like electric guitars for Rocksmith. Yes, acoustic will work, but we believe it introduces a measure of mistake into the feedback provided by the game and so isn’t optimal.
The next step is to consider quality. Internal filters in Rocksmith have been designed to minimize a lot of the buzz that can be caused by poor guitar construction, low-quality electronics, and other issues that are common on low-cost instruments.
This makes an inexpensive guitar seem like a reasonable choice, right? The issue arises when you attempt to play without the software. All of the design problems are exposed, and you’re forced to acquire a new guitar to rock with your buddies or without the game. Why would you (or the person you’re buying it for) put yourself through that?
Spending a little more money on a decent guitar will allow you to upgrade when you’re ready, rather than forcing you to upgrade when you’re not.
We believe that if you follow these two rules, you will enjoy the game more, learn faster, and continue to play long after you have outgrown the game.

In their guitar-focused rhythm game, Ubisoft has found out how to make your acoustic guitar work. A free update on PS4, Xbox One, and PC today added acoustic guitar compatibility to Rocksmith 2014 Edition Remastered. This version also includes Disconnected Mode, which displays only the visual cues for the songs without the audio of your performance. Read the entire overview here for a more detailed list of the acoustic compatibility update.
This is an interesting feature that appears to be technically tough. Additionally, greater free compatibility that benefits a larger number of individuals is always a good thing.
Is the Rocksmith guitar a real one?
If you’ve never heard of Rocksmith, it’s essentially the same game as Guitar Hero, with the exception of the tacky, five-button plastic controller “When you say “axe,” you’re referring to a real guitar or bass. Guitar Hero is a game in which you play as a “While “playing guitar” may make you feel like a rock star, those abilities are not transferable.

Another typical approach to play Rocksmith without a Real Tone Cable is with an acoustic guitar and a microphone, as I previously explained.
All you have to do is enable “Microphone Mode” in Rocksmith’s options. If you have a microphone connected to your computer or console, it should automatically recognize it.
Any acoustic guitar can be used to play Rocksmith. It makes no difference which.
However, because you’ll be dependent on your microphone to pick up the sound of your guitar, I recommend investing in a good USB microphone.
If you use a cheap, low-quality microphone, it may have problems picking up the sound of your guitar clearly, causing the notes in the game to be lost.
Nothing is more aggravating than performing the song correctly yet failing because the game does not register the notes correctly.
I would recommend the Blue Yeti Microphone from Amazon if you want an amazing microphone for Rocksmith.
What’s the best way to get Rocksmith?
You can connect your instrument to Rocksmith Plus in a variety of ways to get real-time feedback and note detection.
You can also utilize the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable to connect directly to your platform of choice if you have an electric guitar, bass, or acoustic-electric with a 1/4″ jack. You can use our effects modeling and simulated tones to sound like your favorite musicians while playing, in addition to note detection and real-time feedback.
Finally, if you play Rocksmith Plus on PC and have a third-party audio interface, you may be able to use it. Similar to the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable, this will allow you to connect electric instruments directly to your PC. However, with third-party guitar interfaces, your results may vary, and not all interfaces are supported. Technical support for third-party interfaces is not available from Ubisoft.
