The discount can be applied to any type of fuel, including regular, premium, and diesel (if available). BJ’s Gas locations may close for site maintenance at any time, and promotional savings will not be accessible during that time.
Can you buy gas at BJs without membership?
Last Saturday, the company’s second gas station in Massachusetts opened at 460 State Road.
The station has the best gas pricing in the area, but there’s a catch: you have to be a member of BJ’s Wholesale Club to take advantage of the benefits.
“The gas station is open to both members and non-members,” says BJ’s spokeswoman Nancy Soldano. “Members pay the member pricing while non-members pay the non-member price. It’s comparable to how we conduct ourselves at the club.”
The gas store charged its members $1.49 for ordinary unleaded gas and $1.61 for premium gas last week, which was less than most other gas stations in the vicinity. The price of a gallon of ordinary gas was $1.58 for non-members, and $1.71 for premium.
Members of the club must first scan their membership card before being able to purchase gas at a discounted rate. Non-members just purchase petrol without taking advantage of the club’s discount.
“We’re able to buy gas in large amounts and sell it to our members at a lower price,” Ms. Soldano explained. “All you have to do is produce your membership card and you may pump gas as usual.”
BJ’s Wholesale Club has 113 locations throughout 14 states, including 25 petrol stations like the one in North Dartmouth. The company’s other Massachusetts gas station is in Chicopee.
How do you get gas at BJs?
BJ’s has just released an app. You may use it to add BJ’s club coupons to your membership card (or add them online here), as well as check local gas prices. Using the BJ’s gas price finder in the past earned you an extra $10 per gallon of petrol.

Fill Up Early
Of course, every club will differ on this one. I’ve noticed that after 11 a.m., the gas stations in our region become very busy. It’s not unusual to stand in line for ten minutes until it fills up. Especially if there’s a gas promotion going on. The gas stations at BJ’s Wholesale Club open earlier than the store. So you have time to eat before the doors open. The earlier you arrive, the faster you will be able to get a seat.
You Don’t Have to Pull Up on The Gas Tank Side
If you need gas and the gas station is busy, don’t wait in line to fill up your tank. You can pull up to any lane because the hoses are unusually long. When it comes to pulling the hose, I struggle a little more than my spouse, but once you get the feel of it, it’s not too difficult.
Pull the hose as far as you can before starting to fill up, and then begin heading over to your gas tank.
Is BJs gasoline top tier?
Shell, Exxon, Chevron, Speedway, BP, Circle K, Mobil, Sunoco, Valero, and QuikTrip are the top ten gasoline retailers by service station count. According to the Oil Price Information Service, they account for more than half of all gasoline sales (57 percent market share) (OPIS).
AAA conducted a test and discovered substantial variations between Top Tier gasoline and those without the additives. According to AAA’s analysis, among the brands evaluated were: “After only 4,000 miles of simulated driving, non-Top Tier gasolines created 19 times more engine deposits than Top Tier brands. Carbon deposits have been shown to lower fuel efficiency, raise emissions, and degrade vehicle performance, especially in newer automobiles.
A complete list of Top Tier stations in North America can be found here. If you don’t have access to the list, simply google it “top-of-the-line gasoline.”
How much cheaper is BJ’s Gas?
When it comes to fuel pricing, BJ’s is typically $0.10 cheaper than the national average. So you should expect to save some money while filling up your pump, but not as much as you would at Costco. Gas accounts for barely a fraction of BJ’s revenue compared to Costco’s: it accounts for roughly 9% of its annual sales.
According to Extrabux, BJ’s has less than half the number of locations as Costco, with roughly 200 stores in 15 states. If you don’t travel much outside of the areas where BJ’s is located, the number of BJ’s locations nationwide may not be an issue for you. However, if you aren’t in an area where BJ’s is widespread, their lower costs won’t help you much.
In the same way that BJ’s gas prices are in the center of the three big bulk retailers, so does its membership cost. An annual membership will set you back $55.
Is BJs owned by Walmart?
BJ’s Wholesale Club, which operates 215 warehouses in 16 states, competes with Costco and Walmart’s Sam’s Club.
In 2011, private equity companies Leonard Green & Partners LP and CVC Capital bought the company for $2.8 billion.
The corporation, based in Westborough, Massachusetts, had net sales of $12.50 billion in fiscal year 2018, up 3.3 percent from the previous year. The company’s total net income was $50.3 million, up 13.7 percent over the previous year.

Is BJ’s gas good for your car?
Gas is pricey, so you’re looking for any way you can save money at the pump. You already avoid premium fuel because your vehicle doesn’t require it. Going to an off-brand gas station will save you a few pennies per gallon extra. But you can’t shake the nagging worry that the inexpensive gas would harm your car’s engine.
Because of developments in engine technology, a car’s onboard computer can compensate for fuel fluctuations, so most drivers won’t notice a difference in performance between different brands of gas, from the most additive-rich gas supplied by major manufacturers to the bare-bones stuff from your local quickie mart.
Still, for someone who recently bought a new automobile and wants to maintain it for as long as possible, a few additional pennies per gallon may bring piece of mind. People who own older cars may not be as concerned about the longevity of their engines. They’ll be fine if they buy the less expensive gas.
“Buy the lowest petrol that is closest to you,” said Steve Mazor, head automotive engineer for the Automobile Club of Southern California.
Even if it starts off that way, this does not indicate that all gas is the same. Different filling stations get their gasoline from the same place: a refinery’s “base gas.” Workers there put EPA-mandated additives into the base gas to clean a car’s engine and cut emissions. The many gas firms then put their own additive packages in the gas, both off-brand and big names, to increase both cleaning and performance even further.
The larger companies add additional additives to their gas and claim to have certain secret substances, which is a significant difference. This extra injection of chemicals gives your engine an extra level of cleaning and protection.
Is this additional serving of additives, which raises the price, truly necessary? How soon will your engine’s performance suffer if you don’t use more expensive, extra-additive gas?
“It’s not like any of the fuels are completely worthless,” says John Nielsen, the AAA’s director of engineering and maintenance. “It won’t affect your automobile if you buy petrol from Bob’s Bargain Basement gas station because that’s all that’s available,” he claims.
The main difference, according to Nielsen, is the amount of additives in the gas. More chemicals provide more protection, but they also come at a higher expense.
Some automakers and oil businesses argue that the amount of additives mandated by the government is insufficient to protect engines. They’ve developed a Top Tier fuel classification. That these gasoline brands sell fuels with more and better additives is what it means.
Drivers should consult their car’s owner’s manual to discover what the manufacturer suggests and, if possible, follow that advice. Those who are still concerned about gasoline quality can inquire as to whether or not a specific oil business has conducted independent testing to back up its claims.
The major oil corporations spend millions of dollars persuading customers that their gas is better by developing advertising with happy cartoon vehicles, lab-coated nerds, and smoky engine valves. If you buy Shell’s nitrogen-enriched gas, for example, you won’t get “gunk” in your engine, according to their advertisements.
